Week One out of the way

Well, that went pretty well for the first week back. We seem to be missing a few but that tends to happen at the start of term so I won't worry until I see if they come back or not. And I'd forgotten to do the register sheet for this term so I ended up having to do it on a spare piece of paper. Still, at least I didn't forget the letters for parents :)

We're doing Brownie Traditions this term so I'm challenging them to come up with 6 useful things to have in their pockets for pocket inspection next week. We had an interesting discussion about what they used to have and we'll see what we get.

Guides were a bit crazy as usual. Seems that a lot of them are on Bebo and Facebook and so on. I wonder how many of them have blogs...

Origami

Looking for a fairly straightforward craft to start the term, I found this PDF of easy origami projects for Cub Scouts and Leaders. There's also some basic origami pages at Enchanted Learning

So, this is going to be a blog about running Guides and Brownies in Oxfordshire. I'll put various bits and bobs about what we do at meetings as well as resources I find online and the various annoying admin tasks that come with running a unit.
